Brief

NACO Design engaged our student creative team to produce high‑quality staged studio photography and videography for both new and reintroduced products. The goal was to create visual assets that reflected NACO’s minimalist brand identity while providing a cohesive yet versatile aesthetic for their online store and social media channels. Although completed within a university setting, the project followed a fully professional client brief and workflow.

Vision & Inspiration

NACO’s visual direction centred on capturing the essence of lifestyle and design through a blend of minimalism, warmth, and authenticity. Each image was intended to feel curated and intentional, showcasing their furniture in a setting where design meets personality.

Their creative vision emphasised:

  • Refined Minimalism — a clean, inviting aesthetic that highlights both form and function

  • Thoughtful Staging — accessories and artwork selected to complement each piece

  • Technical Excellence — Canon DSLR capture for print‑quality images optimised for web and print

  • Studio Innovation — transforming the Nunawading warehouse into a bright, minimalist studio using soft artificial lighting filtered through sheer curtains

This direction guided our approach, ensuring the final imagery told a story of craftsmanship, design, and timeless appeal.

Process

  • Collaborated as a team to review NACO’s brand identity and visual direction.

  • Worked with our supervisor to refine the creative approach and ensure alignment with client expectations.

  • Planned staging concepts, tested equipment, and developed shot compositions collectively.

  • Transformed the warehouse space into a minimalist studio environment using controlled lighting.

  • Conducted staged studio shoots highlighting craftsmanship, materials, and design details.

  • Captured both full‑product images and detailed close‑ups showcasing texture, form, and construction.

  • Filmed supporting video content to strengthen NACO’s digital storytelling.

  • Maintained a cohesive minimalist aesthetic while adapting compositions for different platforms.

  • Shared post‑production responsibilities across the team, ensuring colour accuracy, consistency, and optimisation for online store listings and social media.

Deliverables

A curated collection of studio‑photographed product images and short‑form video assets, edited for colour accuracy and brand consistency. Final deliverables were prepared for use across NACO’s online store, Instagram, Facebook, and future digital marketing materials.
